Cape Town - Baby Boks coach Dawie Theron does not have a problem with Handre Pollard slotting in at No 12 for the Blue Bulls.
Coach Frans Ludeke is considering picking the Springbok at inside centre for their Currie Cup semi-final against Western Province at Newlands on Saturday.
Centre Burger Odendaal broke his arm against Griquas last weekend and has been ruled out for 2 months, which could see Pollard playing inside centre, with Jacques-Louis Potgieter keeping the No 10 jersey.
Ludeke could also decide to start with Pollard at flyhalf, with Ulrich Beyers moving from fullback to inside centre and Jesse Kriel starting at No 15.
Whatever Ludeke decides, Pollard will be a major weapon for the Bulls, according to Theron.
Theron also picked Pollard at inside centre at last year's Junior World Championships when Jan Serfontein was called up to the senior Springbok team.
"He has to be on the field. Handre has grown a lot as a player in the last while and he is playing with a lot of confidence. He'll give the Bulls X-factor," Theron told Beeld.
Theron said Pollard could form a formidable partnership in midfield with William Small-Smith.
"He (Small-Smith) is a very intelligent rugby player and will make it far if he can stay injury-free."
Kick-off for Saturday's semi-final at Newlands is scheduled for 17:00.
