Massive challenge for WP

Cape Town -  Western Province backline coach Robbie Fleck believes their clash against the Blue Bulls at Loftus will be their biggest test so far this season.

The Bulls are languishing in a lowly sixth position on the Currie Cup log and cannot afford any more slip-ups. Province hammered their Northern rivals 35-7 at Newlands earlier in the season, but Fleck is adamant they will face a different Bulls outfit this time round.

“This is a very strong Bulls side. They are trying new things and they are getting used to it. They have dominated the last two games, without getting the result and it is just a matter of time before things fall into place for them. They have a number of Springboks in their side and that plays a role, especially when you play at Loftus," Fleck told the WP Rugby website.

Despite the challenge, Fleck reiterated the the importance of winning, as they still have three tough games - Cheetahs (home), Lions (away), and Sharks (away) to negotiate before the semi-finals.

“This is a massive game, the game of our campaign. It is vital that we get the win particularly with (those) games coming up."

The former Springbok and WP centre also acknowledged that no matter the circumstances, a North-South game between Province and the Bulls is always special.

"Playing the Blue Bulls as a Province player is one of the biggest games of your career. It is always tough at Loftus, but we need to go get the job done," said Fleck.
