Mapoe: I'm back in four weeks

Cape Town - Golden Lions centre Lionel Mapoe could make his return to the playing field in four weeks' time, the player revealed on Thursday.

Mapoe badly injured his shoulder in June while playing Super Rugby for the Bulls. He was loaned to the Pretoria franchise while the Lions were excluded from this year's southern hemisphere competition.

Mapoe has since returned to the Lions for the Currie Cup season and revealed via Twitter that his recovery process in going well.

He tweeted the following on Thursday:

"4weeks to go for my return to the pitch #excitedmuch #cantwait #rugbymylife #GIL #LM13."

The Lions tackle Western Province in a Currie Cup game at Ellis Park on Friday. (19:10 kick-off).
