Jantjies blow for Lions

Cape Town - Injury is likely to rule Golden Lions flyhalf Elton Jantjies out for the remainder of the Currie Cup season.

Jantjies injured his ankle in his side's 31-25 loss to the Sharks at Ellis Park last Friday, and according to the Beeld website, a scan has revealed a Grade 2 tear to his ankle ligaments.

He could be back in three or four weeks' time, but is likely to not play any further part in this year's Currie Cup.

Marnitz Boshoff will now move from fullback to fill the void left at flyhalf.

In other injury news, centre Dylan des Fountain's season is also over after he badly injured his knee against the Sharks.

The Lions next tackle Western Province at Newlands on Saturday (14:00 kick-off).
