I'll never leave WP - Fourie

2012-10-25 15:53

Cape Town - Western Province forward Deon Fourie has indicated he will stay on at the union, after earlier considering a possible move to France.

Fourie, who will captain WP in the Currie Cup final against the Sharks in Durban on Saturday, earlier this year indicated he will likely leave for France after the Currie Cup.

"Allister (Coetzee, WP coach) knows that I have had an offer, but I am still focused on the Currie Cup, I am still here until the end of October," Fourie said back in August.

However, after a decent Currie Cup where the regular hooker has impressed af flank, he's indicated he will stay in Cape Town.

"I'll never leave WP. I think the Cape, Western Province and its people have become an important part if my life," the 26-year-old told Die Burger's website.

The final at Kings Park kicks off at 17:00 on Saturday.

Great team, and still a few others could come in as well. de Allende, JP, Tiaan, Armand, etc etc.

      omge.klits - 2012-10-25 17:54

No really - its a brilliant team . . . to clean the stadium after a Bok game . That backline is small enough to get into any nook and cranny . . .

Is it so difficult for ppl to understand that he enjoys what he does and the team he is playing for? Commitment to his team must surely be appluaded.

Good player with a bright future, need to calm the temper from time to time, but good prospect for SA none the less!

Mooi man Deon!!! Hou van n man met lojaliteit! Hy het die hart van leeu en is n ware kryger! Ek dink op sy huidige vorm is hy een van die beste fetchers in die land en verdien om saam te gaan toer.

I made this comment this morning, and can you believe it, S24 deleted my comment, Rob and co, you have no Balls 'Seems like every day we have ten new trolls on Sport 24, not a pleasure to comment here anymore. The guys who just want to talk rugby gets bombarded by stupidity, hope news24 does something about this!!!

      lionel.kemm.9 - 2012-10-25 16:09

Jaco,my friend, thats why a lot of the old faces that used to comment here have left.We used to have a go at each other but still there was that respect, now,ag its a joke.

      george.traut - 2012-10-25 16:10

Can not agree more! Trolls everywhere.

      jaco.groenewald.731 - 2012-10-25 16:16

Lionell, I have no problem with inter provincial rivalry, but it’s gotten out of hand!!

      lionel.kemm.9 - 2012-10-25 16:23

Jaco, its basically out of Sport24's hands cause any Dick,Tom and Harry can create a FB profile.I say only real FB profiles should be allowed to comment

      jaco.groenewald.731 - 2012-10-25 16:29

I agree, it’s easy to see a fake FB profile, just the names some of these trolls use, is already enough to see it’s fake

      stirrer.stirrer - 2012-10-25 17:12

OK, I also don't use my real name, for valid reasons I have explained before, but at least I keep my profile the same, and don't steal other profiles like that sad slab of misery, the Canadian nurse. A psychologist will have a field day with him... This post of a week ago says it all: "The anonymity that the internet offers to all and sundry with a computer unfortunately allows for the most contemptible of personalities to thrive. The art is to identify them and then ignore them... because feeding them is giving them the narcissistic attention they so desperately crave and NOT get in real life. All under the auspices of freedom of speech. They are in the end just pathetic little bullies that can type. - Lyndatjie - October 18, 2012"

      niel.mathews.1 - 2012-10-25 17:29

trolls = blue bulls supporters mainly (blou.johnny). what a clueless idiot

      bootman.bokke - 2012-10-25 17:48

I would not use my real FB profile to comment here...................seriously, would anyone want to expose their family and friends to the spychopaths on here? Take the nurse for instance. He goes on your profile, sniffs around and tries to find things to use against you. Would you really want a sicko like that to know where you live, where you work and who your family and friends are? On my current profile he can sniff all he wants.........there is nothing for him.

      Billy - 2012-10-25 18:24

the worst thing is, its not even clever trolling. its just.. trash.. poor.. plain dumb tbh a good troll can be entertaining(if its not malicious) its just copy paste trash spewed all over my screen, same boring rubbish that some fool with an IQ of 2 cant improve on. BTW an online avatar/handle/profile/account/nick/etc. is not automatically a troll. trolling (as in the fishing sense, and this is its origin) is when you lure someone into an arguement, by which ever means you have available to you. in afrikaans its basically, "jy vat iemand vir n gat" some people just dont know when to stop, and anonymity on the net makes it easier.

      petrocornelia - 2012-10-26 07:24

I totally agree, if the subject is rugby, let talk rugby, but some people like to trash each other and say nasty personal things, that is way out of line, this is a sport blog not a cheap personal fight blog, and this goes for all, but would like however to ask the bulls, would you not like the WP to win for the smashing of the bulls you should support us to give them the thrashing they gave you, and i know, it is only a dream so don` t crucify me please

he totally deserved MVP award. and i hope after the first quiet match he had last week he back out in full theft of ball mode and then he can also show jp his pace like he did a few years back . .

@francois, vir jou ook my skat

  • eugene.brink.9 - 2012-10-26 12:02

It seems like freedom of speech or any anti-WP comments will be met with the full arm of the Sport24 sheriffs. This comment is also likely to be deleted, just like a whole range of comments on this story. You should be ashamed of yourselves for promoting WP while purporting to provide all types of news and blogging space where people can air their opnions.

  • alexander.meque - 2012-10-26 16:58

We'll see an empty sharks stadium again, pathetic
