Bulls release Snyman to Racing

2013-09-09 16:30

Pretoria - The Blue Bulls have announced on Monday that they have released scrumhalf, Ruan Snyman to join Top 14 French club Racing Metro with immediate effect.

A transfer fee has been paid and Snyman will be available to play for the club as soon as selected.

According to the Bulls High Performance Manager at the BBC, Xander Janse van Rensburg, a decision was made to accommodate Snyman’s request for an immediate release.

"Ruan had a contract till October 2013 and he could join Racing only if he was available immediately.

"We have decided not to stand in his way and accepted the request and transfer fee involved.

"' There are no hard feelings involved here and we wish Ruan all the best in France.

"He has been an honest, hard-working professional who served the Blue Bulls with honour and distinction."

Another one:):)......this is not good for SA rugby at all.

      Christiaan Welgens - 2013-09-09 16:11

Question is how long will European supporters allow overseas players to play instead of local talent?.

      Lionel Kemm - 2013-09-09 16:14

      Exactly,same thing happening in soccer.

      Kevin Robarts - 2013-09-09 17:19

@Basjan. Good point but fans don't really care if their players keep getting better. For the top French players, even though they would like to start every game, their careers are being extended by spending so much time on the bench.

      Shaun Neveling - 2013-09-09 18:05

Good for him, he is not up to standard in any case

      Werner Brand - 2013-09-09 19:04

Well Shaun, who do you replace him with?

      Ruan Smith - 2013-09-09 19:34

SA rugby is bleeding rugby players!!! and everyone is still fighting an additional super rugby team!!! "Keep them home campaign"

      Warren van Wyk - 2013-09-09 20:28

@ Werner Brand: The answer is easy... someone from the Cheetahs!

Hoekom sal mens by n plek weggaan waar jy gelukkig is?

      Werner Brand - 2013-09-09 19:08

      Geld bloubloed, geld. Dishoekom.

      Shaun Neveling - 2013-09-09 20:10

@Eduarde, ek stem saam daar.

  • Abraham Jacobs Snr - 2013-09-10 09:02

Weel the Bulls have bought Piet van Zyl from the Cheatahs so where would Ruan Snyman be playing next year.

  • Rainer Christian Mücke - 2013-09-10 09:49

It's sad to see another one leave... But well done boet, go earn those Euros and enjoy the experience... Maybe you come back a even better player, or maybe we will see you run out for the French National Team one day... Their scrumhalf stocks are relatively empty...
