Toulon - Allegations that former All Black Jerry Collins attacked a woman at his home in France have been rejected by French police, according to his agent.
Collins's Wellington-based agent, Tim Castle, said that French police investigated the woman's claims back in October and had found them "completely contrived".
"Several witnesses who were at Jerry's home that night say the so-called complainant and a friend turned up uninvited and were asked to leave," Castle told The Dominion Post.
"Her friend tried to persuade her to leave but she refused. Whatever injury befell her, and we don't accept there were the injuries she claimed, were the result of her own actions and not Jerry's."
TV3 reported on Wednesday that the woman claimed Collins threw her into a gully.
Toulon Rugby Club, where Collins is now plying his trade, said they had made inquiries and were confident the flank had "done nothing".
A Toulon-based newspaper reported the woman had in fact followed Collins home and fell off a five-metre wall into the gully, while attempting to break in.
Castle said Collins had been "very upset" by suggestions from the media.
"It's very disappointing, but it's one of those things that can happen when you have players of the stature of Jerry Collins, whose company is very sought after," Castle added.
