Coleman saves WP's blushes

Cape Town - Reserve flyhalf Kurt Coleman kicked a late conversion to enable Western Province to draw their friendly clash against the SWD Eagles at Outeniqua Park in George on Tuesday.

Die Burger newspaper reports that Coleman's conversion levelled the scores at 40-all after flanker Reuben Johannes scored after a rolling maul.

It was WP's sixth try of the game, of which two were penalty tries.

SWD scored four tries but their fullback Deroy Rhoode kept them in the game with his boot after half-time.

Eightman Quinton Petzer scored their fourth try five minutes from time to give them a 40-33 lead before WP snatched a late draw.

The men from Cape Town were 26-17 up at half-time.
