Carter confident of facing Eng

London - New Zealand flyhalf Dan Carter expects to face England at Twickenham on Saturday in the final match of the world champions' European tour.

Carter missed the All Blacks' 33-10 win over Wales in Cardiff last Saturday with Achilles and calf problems but said on Tuesday he anticipated taking part in New Zealand's last match of 2012.

"Hopefully I'll be ready, nothing's changed over the last couple of days," he said "The plan was to get through training and it was pretty light today, I didn't go over 50 percent. I got through it well.

"We're looking after it well and doing everything right to be ready for this weekend. I'm pretty confident I'll be right to play, I just need some positive thinking," added Carter, aiming to help the All Blacks extend their 20-match unbeaten run.

"It's the last game of the year and I want to be part of it."

New Zealand coach Steve Hansen is due to name his team to play England on Thursday.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
