Cape Town - Leading rugby clothing manufacturers, Canterbury, have come on board as the official equipment suppliers for the 2010 Castle Cape Town Tens tournament which, of course, takes place this weekend!
Canterbury will supply match-balls and the referees' kit at the 2010 CT Tens and they will also have their fantastic off-field range on display - and for sale - at Hamilton's throughout the weekend.
As an added bonus, Canterbury - who, of course, sponsor the world champion Springboks - will also be kitting out the International Legends team, an invitational side that is set to feature a host of rugby stars.
The International Legends - who last year called upon the likes of Bob Skinstad, Robbie Fleck, Zak Feaunati and Kees Meeuws, to name just a few players - will be competing in the Veterans Division of the 2010 CT Tens and will also feature in an exhibition match against the SA Legends at the new Cape Town Stadium as part of the inaugural Cape Town Stadium Rugby Festival.
Cape Town Tens Tournament Host Robbie Fleck told capetowntens.com: "It's very important for the Cape Town Tens to surround itself with like-minded brands, and people, and I believe we have done just that by getting Canterbury on board.
"I am especially excited about their sponsorship of the International Legends team and I look forward to seeing the special edition Canterbury jerseys that are being prepared for the Legends to wear at the tournament."
Speaking about Canterbury's renowned on-field products, Fleck added: "Canterbury have been a big part of Springbok rugby for some time now and it's a big privilege for us to also have an association with this top rugby brand.
"As far as their technical rugby products go, Canterbury are outstanding and that's obviously a big plus for the Cape Town Tens from a rugby point of view.
"But, as we all know, the Cape Town Tens is more than just about the rugby... it's also a big social event and that's why Canterbury appealed to us so much," he added.
"Its on-field presence aside, Canterbury is also a huge off-field and lifestyle brand; it's obviously a great product to wear on the pitch, but their casual wear is great for a drink in the bar afterwards - all of which fits in perfectly with the Cape Town Tens ethos."
The International Legends team will feature the likes of Skinstad, Fleck, Tim Horan, Pat Howard, Damian Smith, Jeremy Paul, Feaunati, Matt Phillips and Leon Lloyd - with one final name set to be announced later this week.
