Bulls mourn player's death

Cape Town - The Blue Bulls Rugby Union has expressed its grief after promising Under-21 forward Nico van Vuuren passed away over the weekend.

According to the Bulls' website, Van Vuuren, who played hooker and prop, died in car accident in Komatipoort on Saturday.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with his parents, brother, family and friends," the union said.

SA Rugby on Sunday also paid tribute to the youngster via their twitter account.

"Condolences to family, friends of Vodacom Blue Bulls u21 hooker/prop Nico van Vuuren who died in car crash on weekend," SA Rugby tweeted.

The 20-year-old was part of the Blue Bulls' squad in the Under-21 Currie Cup this year. He was schooled at Nelspruit and represented the Pumas at Craven Week in 2009-10.
