Bulls duo loaned to EP Kings

Cape Town - The Blue Bulls have opted to loan two players to the Eastern Province Kings for the upcoming Currie Cup season.

The Pretoria union announced on Wednesday that loose forward Jacques "Vleis" Engelbrecht and prop Basil Short will ply their trade in Port Elizabeth during the 2015 Currie Cup.

Engelbrecht, 29, is no stranger to the Kings having played for them in the 2013 Super Rugby competition.

Short, 24, has been on the Bulls’ books since 2011.

The Bulls also confirmed that they will play warm-up matches against the Kings (Friday, July 17 in Port Elizabeth) and Canon in Japan (Friday, July 31).

The Bulls open their Currie Cup campaign against the Free State Cheetahs in Bloemfontein on Saturday, August 8, while the Kings host the Lions in Port Elizabeth on that same day.
