Brüssow the 'toughest Cheetah'

Cape Town - Springbok flank Heinrich Brüssow has won the "Toughest Cheetah" award for the 2012 season, according to the Rugby 365 website.

Despite missing big parts of the Super Rugby and Currie Cup season due to injury, the 26-year-old still walked away with the R20 000 grand prize.

After every game during the season, the Cheetahs coaches awarded two players with a 'toughest tackle' and Most Valuable Player award, with Brüssow the player who received the awards most often.

Brüssow will be eager to go through 2013 injury-free as he tries to return to the Springbok fold after falling out of favour since new coach Heyneke Meyer took charge.

The Free Stater's last Test for South Africa was at the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand last year, when the Boks were eliminated after an 11-9 loss.
