Cape Town - An Irish betting company believes Ireland deserved to beat the All Blacks and subsequently paid pundits who predicted an Irish victory.
New Zealand won the game 24-22 in Dublin on Sunday after scoring a last-gasp try. This after Ireland had led 19-0 at one stage during the first half.
According to the Irish Examiner website, BragBet took pity on disheartened Irish rugby punters by paying out on Ireland at 10/1 as if they had actually won.
BragBet CEO Phil Riordan said Irish rugby fans were robbed by the injury time try and while "a few quid won’t make up for the once in a lifetime chance that went begging, at least by paying out at 10/1 it will sweeten the medicine a little."
The loss was so heartbreaking that the official BragBet Twitter account said that the company is pretending it never happened.
Ireland have never beaten the All Blacks in 28 matches, with a 10-10 draw at Lansdowne Road in 1973 their best effort.
