The summer transfer window is now officially open and from Real Madrid to Manchester United, every top-class team is looking to strengthen their squad. With deals resulting in more than £1bn being spent across England, Spain, Italy, Germany and France already, players continue raking in the money while their teams go head-to-head in the pursuit of glory.

Since money seems to be on the minds of many at the moment, we figured we’d list the most expensive all-time transfers in soccer. We apologise for any pain that might be caused by the figures that follow.
