Tony Ferguson is set to face Justin Gaethje on 18 April in the headline fight at UFC 249 as the full fight card was announced for the event to be hosted in the United States, but at a venue yet to be confirmed.
UFC president Dana White also pledged to host weekly events at different locations - including on a private island.
Ferguson, who was set to face lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, will instead challenge Gaethje for the interim 155 pound after the Russian failed to secure a flight out of his homeland.
White has controversially decided to continue hosting fighting events despite the global coronavirus pandemic that has seen the USA record 367 650 confirmed cases with 10 943 deaths as of 7 April.
US President Donald Trump has encouraged physical distancing measures with many states enforcing lockdowns as Trump warned Americans to prepare for "a tough two weeks" as they reach the apex of infections.
