Top 6 must-watch weekend sporting events

Cape Town - It's the weekend!

But the sporting world never sleeps, so hang on tight and be sure to watch these SIX events (in no particular order)!

1. PSL

The PSL action gets right into the swing of things on Friday when Maritzburg United tackle Orlando Pirates (Kick-off is at 20:00 SA time).

Then we head to FNB Stadium as Amakhosi host the reigning champions, Bidvest Wits on Saturday (18:00 SA time).

2. SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX

The Formula One circus roars into Singapore this weekend with all eyes on the fierce battle between Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel and Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton.

Vettel trails Hamilton by three points in this year's drivers' standings.

However, let's not overlook a determined Valtteri Bottas and a dangerous Daniel Ricciardo...

3. PRO14

The PRO14 action has landed in South Africa with round 3 underway this weekend!

After a disappointing two rounds, the Cheetahs will look to win in front of their home crowd when they take on Italy's Zebre (Saturday at 19:30), while the Southern Kings hope to get their first win under the belt when they tackle the Irish club, Leinster (Saturday at 14:15).

4. ENGLISH PREMIERSHIP EXTRAVAGANZA!

The English Premiership is here to keep us entertained all through Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Some of the biggest fixtures include Everton travelling to Old Trafford to take on Jose Mourinho's men (Kick-off on Sunday, 17:00).

Then we have an epic clash between the reigning champions Chelsea and Arsene Wenger's charges Arsenal (Kick-off on Sunday, 14:30).

5. DAVIS CUP - SA V DENMARK

This weekend South Africa take on Denmark in the third round of Group II Euro/Africa of the Davis Cup at the Ceres Park & Arena, Aarhus.

The first of three matches gets underway on Friday (15:00 SA time) as Frederik Nielsen takes on Nik Scholtz, which will be followed by the battle between Benjamin Hannestad and Lloyd Harris.

In the third rubber on Saturday, Thomas Kromann and Frederik Nielsen will be up against the fearsome SA duo of Raven Klaasen and Ruan Roelofse (13:00 SA time).

6. SPRINGBOKS V ALL BLACKS

This Saturday, the Rugby Championship is something you definitely do not want to miss.

The Springboks face the ultimate test when they take on the almighty All Blacks in Albany on Saturday (Kick-off is at 09:35 SA time).

Then we head to Canberra, where the Wallabies will play host to the Los Pumas (Kick-off is at 12:00 SA time).

Who will reign supreme? Will we see any upsets? All these questions and more will be answered on Sport24...
