Top 4 must-watch weekend sporting events

Cape Town - It's the weekend!

But the sporting world never sleeps, so hang on tight and be sure to watch these FOUR events (in no particular order)!

1. PRO14

Round 2 of the PRO14 Championship gets underway this weekend!

After a disappointing opening round, the Cheetahs will be up against Rassie Erasmus' Munster in a grueling encounter (Saturday at 18:15), while the Southern Kings hope to get their first win under the belt when they take on Connacht (Saturday at 20:35).

2. US OPEN

It's crunch time at the Flushing Meadows!

South Africa's Kevin Anderson is on the verge of making history if is able to down Spain's Pablo Carreno Busta (Friday, 22:00) to reach the final on Sunday, while world No 1 Rafael Nadal meets Juan Del Potro in the second men's semi-final.

While over for the women's final, it's an all-American final with Sloane Stephens and Madison Keys vying for their first Grand Slam title.

3. MTN 8 SEMI-FINALS

We're down to the second-leg of the final four of the MTN8 semi-finals.

Some of the mouthwatering fixtures include Maritzburg United hosting SuperSport United (Saturday at 20:15) then we move onto the defending champions Bidvest Wits needing a win (Sunday at 15:00) after losing their first match to Cape Town City.

4. SPRINGBOKS V WALLABIES

The Rugby Championship is back this weekend!

The first mouthwatering encounter gets underway in New Plymouth where the almighty All Blacks take on the Los Pumas (Kick-off on Saturday at 09:35).

Then we change gear to see if the Springboks can defeat the Wallabies in Perth (Kick-off at 12:00 SA time).

Who will reign supreme? Will we see any upsets? All these questions and more will be answered on Sport24...
