Top 3 must-watch weekend sporting events

Cape Town - It's the weekend!

But the sporting world never sleeps, so hang on tight and be sure to watch these THREE events!

1. Absa Premiership

On Saturday, we see Polokwane City host Baroka FC (15:00), Cape Town City battle Golden Arrows (18:00), Wits take on SuperSport United (20:15) and Chippa United are up against newly promoted Black Leopards (20:15).

On Sunday, Steve Komphela's Bloemfontein Celtic take on Orlando Pirates (15:00) and AmaZulu host Free State Stars (15:00).

2. English Premiership

The English Premiership is here to keep us entertained.

We start off with Cardiff City hosting Newcastle United (13:30 SA time), Everton battle Southampton (16:00 SA time), Tottenham Hotspurs taking on Fulham United (16:00 SA time) and then we end off with the match of the weekend as 2016/17 champions Chelsea host Arsenal (18:30 SA time).

On Sunday, reigning champions Manchester City host Huddersfield Town (14:30 SA time), Burnley take on Watford (14:30 SA time) and Brighton & Hove Albion battle Jose Mourinho's Manchester United (17:00 SA time)

3. Springboks v Pumas

The Rugby Championship is back!

We get things under way in Sydney where the Wallabies host the almighty All Blacks (12:05 SA time).

The Springboks look to prove critics wrong and gain momentum from their English triumph when Siya Kolisi's men take on the Los Pumas in their Rugby Championship opener in Durban (Kick-off at 17:05).

Who will reign supreme? Will we see any upsets? All these questions and more will be answered on Sport24...
