DID THE ENGLAND CRICKET TEAM GET COVID-19 ON THEIR SA TOUR?

England's Chris Woakes has been left wondering out loud if the mystery flu bug that decimated the England team on their tour to SA in the summer was indeed the coronavirus. Almost the entire squad became ill, suggesting that whatever they got was highly contagious.

MYTWOCENTS VERDICT: As Proteas supporters we certainly hope not. Losing 3-1 at home was bad enough ... losing 3-1 at home to a coronavirus-infested team would be a bitter pill to swallow (so to speak!).

DREADED KOLPAK TO BE EXTENDED?

South African hopes that the dreaded Kolpak deal would finally be coming to an end on the back of Brexit being formalised, may have to be put on hold for now. Word is that the Covid-19 crisis may push back the implementation of Brexit policies as more time is needed for Britain and the EU to get their ducks in a row.

MYTWOCENTS VERDICT: We suppose that any postponement would be offset by the lack of international cricket taking place anyway. We just want our players back!

SUPER RUGBY SEASON STILL IN THE DARK

The most notable takeaway from SA Rugby's recent press release stating which competitions where cancelled for this year and which were still potentially proceeding, was the glaring absence of any communication regarding the remainder for the Super Rugby season. There was a proposal for a domestic competition to replace Super Rugby but no mention of the competition being cancelled.

MYTWOCENTS VERDICT: At this point it seems highly unlikely that the event will take place and I am sure behind closed doors this decision has been made already. So why keep fans in the dark? Sharks and Stormers fans would like to know if they can dream about something else other than winning that elusive Super Rugby title.

EPL TO FINISH BY END OF JULY, EUROPEAN COMPS PLAYED IN AUGUST

Premier League chiefs have agreed to finish their season by the end of July, allowing the Champions League and Europa League to be completed in August. There was initially some doubt as to whether or not the EPL would be declared null and void this season but this news will come as a relief to most footy fans as well as the TV broadcasters.

MYTWOCENTS VERDICT: Get ready for a bumper June and July in front of the TV with 2-3 rounds of fixtures per week!

TIGER, LEFTY, BRADY AND MANNING SET FOR CHARITY MATCH

Tiger Woods will partner with NFL legend Peyton Manning while Phil Mickelson will pair with GOAT NFL quarterback Tom Brady in a TV charity match without spectators scheduled for the end of May most likely somewhere in Florida. Two years ago, Tiger and Phil squared off in an event known as "The Match".

MYTWOCENTS VERDICT: Since Manning plays off a 6 handicap and Brady an 8, we wonder if Lefty will give Tiger's team 2 shots ... although seriously doubt it! One thing for sure is that there will be plenty of "side action" on this as Mickelson is a notorious gambler.
