EPL TO KICK-OFF 12 OR 19 JUNE WITH SPURS V MANCHESTER UNITED

The Daily Mail is reporting that the EPL season is set to kick off either on Friday, 12 June or a week later on 19 June with a night match between Spurs and Manchester United followed by 4 games each with staggered starts on Saturday and Sunday and then a Monday night game to complete the round. All games to be televised and behind closed doors of course.

MYTWOCENTS VERDICT: There seem to be a few loopholes still to be overcome and there are also a few discerning voices around but if handled properly this should be great news for sports fans. Start your engines!

IT LOOKS LIKE TYSON V HOLYFIELD 3

Just yesterday Mike Tyson tweeted "I'm Back!" after another impressive display on the pads. Evander Holyfield is also making noises on social media about his planned return to the ring. Now Tyson has ruled out fighting the likes of rugby legend Sonny Bill Williams and says he wants to fight a real boxer. Whether Holyfield, at 57-years-old, qualifies as a "real boxer" is subject to opinion, but at this point it certainly seems that this is the fight to be made.

MYTWOCENTS VERDICT: No disrespect to either of these two great fighters, but neither of them should be considering competing with the current heavyweight elite, so a charity fight between the two over 4 rounds makes sense and would be entertaining viewing for sure.

UFC PICTURE BECOMING CLEARER

UFC boss Dana White has started to map out a proposed fight schedule for the stacked lightweight division. Khabib Nurmagomedov is the champion but he is fasting for Ramadan and needs at least 10 weeks to prepare for a fight. He has said he will only be available to fight in September. That would suit Justin Gaethje who probably needs a break after battering Tony Ferguson for the interim title. But where does that leave Conor McGregor who is clearly chomping at the bit to get involved in the action? White has suggested that Conor will fight in the summer and then line up later in the year against the winner of Nurmagomedov and Gaethje.

MYTWOCENTS VERDICT: Not sure where this leaves Ferguson but we potentially could see McGregor v Dustin Poirier in the summer and Ferguson v Dan Hooker in August/September. Either way we have some juicy fights to look forward to.
