ENGLISH RUGBY "SCRIBES" JOIN COMEDY CLUB

We are sure most rugby loving readers would have seen the latest "top 10 list" from our friends on the muddy shores of England. We have seen multiple lists of "greatest ever teams" prominently featuring England teams over the years - this time we have been subjected to a "Top 10 best players in the world" dominated by ... you guessed it ... English players! Marco Itoje came out tops (where was he in the 2019 Rugby World Cup final?) while World Player of the Year, Pieter-Steph du Toit, only came in fifth. There was also space for Tom Curry and Kyle Sinckler (???).

MYTWOCENTS VERDICT: We are considering compiling a list of the top 10 most deluded rugby scribes ... completely dominated by English rugby writers!

FERGUSON USES POLE AS KICKING "BAG"

As the build-up to UFC 249's main event between Tony Ferguson and Justin Gaethje gathers steam, video footage of Ferguson's "unorthodox" training methods have been taking social media by storm. Known to train for 6 hours straight, one of the clips that stood out featured him kicking a metal pole repeatedly with his shin ... and then revealing no damage. Ferguson has an awkward fighting style that is nevertheless very aggressive and in your face. His opponent "The Highlight" Gaethje is equally as aggressive, happy to take a shot to get one in. This fight (Sunday, 10 May SA time) is not to be missed.

MYTWOCENTS VERDICT: While admittedly lockdown has at times made us want to bang our heads against a wall, we can think of better things to do than kicking a metal pole with our shins.

"THE REAL DEAL" HOLYFIELD ALSO GETTING IN ON THE ACT?

All the talk recently has been about "Iron Mike" Tyson making a comeback at the age of 53 ... Evander Holyfield may be getting a bit of FOMO too it seems. Holyfield issued a cryptic tweet on 3 May with the message "A setback only paves the way for a comeback."

MYTWOCENTS VERDICT: Whoaa! The dude is 57-years-old which leads us to wonder if this is all a cleverly orchestrated marketing strategy to promote a charity fight between two old rivals? This time Holyfield can rest assured that his ears will be safe as Tyson has recently shifted to a plant based diet!
