MANCHESTER UNITED KANE ON HARRY

Harry Kane is dominating British transfer speculation at the moment with several reports out there that Manchester United are prepared to splash the cash ... £200 million (R5 billion) of it ... on the England captain. Kane, himself has done little to dispel the rumours either while pundits believe that he is the missing piece of the puzzle to restore the Red Devils to their glory days.

MYTWOCENTS VERDICT: A proven goalscorer, of that there is no doubt, but a 200 million quid investment in those suspect ankles is a punchy bet right now.

EPL TO REOPEN IN JUNE?

There may be some light at the end of the tunnel ... more specifically the tunnel at Wembley! Apparently EPL big wigs are planning to complete the season behind closed doors beginning early June with Wembley stadium being used to host up to 4 to 5 matches per day on match days. The idea is that large hotels nearby could house players and coaches in quarantine and the multiple training pitches (13 of them) could be used for teams to practice on.

MYTWOCENTS VERDICT: Bad idea! For one it would give an unfair advantage to London clubs who wouldn't have to travel far for games. Secondly, how do you determine if it's a home or away fixture? Teams due for "home" games will lose their advantage.

WWE CONSIDERED ESSENTIAL BUSINESS IN FLORIDA

A Florida governor has deemed WWE as essential business - along with hospitals, banks and grocery stores - and given the green light for live shows (TV only) to restart as of yesterday. This essential service was added because it is critical to Florida's economy, officials told media outlets.

MYTWOCENTS VERDICT: In a reflection of the world as it is today it's not surprising that something so fake gets to resume first. It will however, open the door for other real sports to resume action.

RORY BULLISH ON NOVEMBER GREEN JACKET

Rory McIlroy sees the Masters rescheduling to November as improving his chances of claiming the only Major to elude him so far.
“November is going to be different," McIlroy said. "It’s going to be cold. The course can play very long. I mean, it plays long already, but it could play very long. The greens might not be as fast as they usually are in April, depending on the moisture.  It’s the back end of the year as two of the majors have already been played - hopefully, the Ryder Cup’s already been played. People might be in their routines and in their flow a little bit.”

MYTWOCENTS VERDICT: This could very well suit Rory as he historically seems to find form at the back end of the season.

KUDOS TO FRANSIE STEYN

In an era where cash is king, Springbok legend Frans Steyn has chosen to buck (excuse the pun) trend. Instead of ending his career accumulating Japanese Yen or British pounds, Steyn has opted to return to his home team - the cash-strapped Cheetahs.

MYTWOCENTS VERDICT: I highly doubt they are paying him top-dollar for the privilege, so Steyn's unselfish move is to be applauded. The influence he will have on promising young players is not to be underestimated. He gets to complete his career where it all started. A massive win for everyone. We salute you sir!

SUPER RUGBY TO BE SCRAPPED THIS YEAR?

Proposals as to how to manage the rest of the rugby calendar year have suggested that the rest of the Super Rugby season be cancelled in favour of a domestic competition featuring our Super Rugby teams as well as the Cheetahs and Kings.

MYTWOCENTS VERDICT: Not another (meaningless) domestic competition please! We understand that travel may make the completion of the Super Rugby season complicated but rather than cancel it, why don't we start by playing all remaining domestic fixtures (behind closed doors) then travel to finish off all overseas fixtures? That is assuming travel will be allowed. Playoffs could be reduced to semi-finals and final.
