WATCH | On his birthday, relive one of Chad le Clos' - and SA's - greatest ever sporting moments

2020-04-12 10:50

A very Happy 28th Birthday to South Africa's most decorated Olympian of all time, Chad le Clos.

Le Clos was responsible for one of South Africa's greatest ever sporting moments in 2012 when he out-touched American swimming superstar Michael Phelps (watch full highlights below) to win gold in the men's 200m butterfly at the London Olympics - by a mere 0.05 seconds.

Le Clos also boasts three Olympic silver medals - 100m butterfly (2012 in London), 200m freestyle and 100m butterfly (2016 in Rio de Janeiro).

Sadly, Le Clos won't get a chance to add to his medal tally in Tokyo later this year after the 2020 Games were postponed by 12 months until mid-2021.
