Cape Town - Matthew Fenn and Ally Chislett have provided the silver lining for Team South Africa’s Youth squad at the Lifesaving’s World Championships in Adelaide, Australia.

Friday proved more productive for Team South Africa after Thursday's effort didn’t produce a medal.

Fenn was the pick of the South African boys in finishing second in the surf ski. He beat team-mate Daniel Jacobs, who got bronze.

Meanwhile, Chislett took silver in the girls’ surf swim.

KZN’s talented Connor Botha celebrated his 17th birthday with bronze in the Board race.

Fenn had to settle for ninth.

Botha was also competitive in the ocean male and boys surf swim, but not good enough to medal.

The positive in the Open Pool competition is that South Africa earned more points than at the previous World Championship in 2018.
