Johannesburg - Run For It and Jet Explorer are the two clear favourites for the Durban July Handicap over 2200 metres at Greyville on Saturday.
Sean Cormac is the jockey for Run For It, while Anthony Delpech is in the saddle for Jet Explorer.
"He is the one they all have to beat in the July Handicap," Cormac said of his own horse.
Run For It ran the fastest time in the public gallops last week.
Jet Explorer impressed in his win at Greyville, and also put up a fine public gallop. Run For It and Jet Explorer are coupled in the Pick Six.
Last year's winner Pomodoro has strengthened up since last year's race. He had a top class preparation and was impressive in his races.
Capetown Noir won the Cape Guineas and the Derby, and is coming into the race in fine form.
Trainer Dean Kannemeyer said his horse was a top contender.
"He has done well and is at his peak and I expect a great run from him," he said.
The Gavin Van Zyl stable has a strong hand with Seal, No Worries, and Shogunnar engaged.
