Home sprinter Bouhanni leads Cofidis Tour team

Paris - Nacer Bouhanni, one of France's top sprinters, will lead the Cofidis team into the Tour de France, which begins this weekend.

Bouhanni, 26, is a former stage winner on the Giro d'Italia and the Vuelta a Espana but he has struggled on his home Grand Tour.

He abandoned in the first week in 2013 and 2015 and missed last year's race due to injury.

The only Cofidis rider taking part in the Tour de France for the first time will be the 30-year-old Belgian Dimitri Claeys (30 ans).

This year's tour starts in the German city of Duesseldorf on Saturday.

Cofidis team for Tour de France:

Nacer Bouhanni (FRA), Dimitri Claeys (BEL), Christophe Laporte (FRA), Cyril Lemoine (FRA), Luis Angel Mat (ESP), Daniel Navarro (ESP), Florian Snchal (FRA), Julien Simon (FRA), Geoffrey Soupe (FRA)

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
