Montreal - It was a mixed night in the swimming pool for South Africa at the FINA Short Course World Swimming Championships in Windsor, Canada on Friday.
South Africa's Chad le Clos has reached the final of the men's 50m butterfly finishing first in his semi-final and second overall (behind America's Tom Shields) with a time of 22.41.
Meanwhile, South Africa failed to reach the podium in the men's 4x50m freestyle relay final.
The team comprised of Douglas Erasmus, Bradley Tandy, Le Clos and Eben Vorster, finished sixth in a time of 1:25.61.
World record holder Vladimir Morozov anchored Russia to victory in the men's 4x50m freestyle relay.
The 17-year-old Michael Andrew, whose age-group success has seen him tipped as a multi-medal threat in the mold of Olympic superstar Michael Phelps, won the 100m individual medley in 51.84 seconds.
He edged Japan's Rio Olympic bronze medallist Daiya Seto, who took silver in 52.01 with Japan's Shinri Shioura earning bronze in 52.17.

Denmark's Jeanette Ottesen won the women's 50m butterfly, surging on the final half-lap to win in 24.02 ahead of American Kelsi Worrell and Japan's Rikako Ikee.
