Cape Town - South African MMA star Dricus du Plessis will face Poland’s Borys Mankowski at KSW 47 on March 23, 2019 at the Atlas Arena in Lodz.
Du Plessis (12-2) and Mankowski (19-7) were originally meant to fight at KSW 41 for the welterweight strap a year ago; however, ‘Stillknocks’ got injured.
Both men are former KSW welterweight champions, and the winner of their scrap could get another title shot.
Du Plessis will look to rebound from surrendering the KSW 77kg belt with a knockout loss to German-based Croatian Roberto Soldic (15-3) in a rematch in London on October 6.
Mankowski’s previous outing also ended with a defeat to Soldic, by TKO on December 23, 2017.
Earlier this month, Soldic defended his crown by knocking out Brazilian Vinicius Bohrer (16-7) at KSW 46.
It is unclear when Du Plessis will compete in the EFC again, having recently been linked with a superfight with fellow champ-champ Dalcha Lungiambula (9-1).
Du Plessis, the EFC welterweight and middleweight king, last fought on home soil when he submitted Yannick Bahati (8-4) on August 29, 2017.
