Cape Town - MMA icon and former UFC women’s featherweight champion ‘Cris Cyborg’ has touched down in South Africa.
Cyborg (20-2), widely considered one of the greatest female fighters on the planet, is in the country to conduct a seminar in Johannesburg on Saturday.
The event is set to start at 10:00 at Apex MMA Gym at the Sandton View Shopping Centre in Bryanston.
SA’s only active UFC fighter Don Madge (8-3-1) has helped the 33-year-old Brazilian destroyer, real name Cristiane Justino, prepare for title bouts in the past as a sparring partner.
Cyborg has not fought since losing the belt to UFC champ-champ Amanda Nunes (17-4) in December 2018, her first defeat in over 13 years.
Madge, who trains at Coach Quan University in Johannesburg, is currently angling for a scrap with Scotland’s Steven Ray (22-8).
