The Congolese powerhouse, who has been living and training in Cape Town, becomes the second EFC champion in less than a year to join the sport’s top promotion.
South Africa’s Don Madge (8-3-1) made the move soon after reclaiming the EFC lightweight strap from the now-retired Dave Mazany (17-6-1) in April 2018.

With Lungiambula’s exit, American Jared Vanderaa (8-3) takes over the EFC heavyweight crown, having won the interim belt by dispatching ex-UFC fighter Ruan Potts (11-7) in December last year.
Vanderaa will defend the gold for the first time against Lungiambula’s compatriot Ricky Misholas (7-7) on March 16 at EFC 77, which is headlined by Martin van Staden’s (26-11) battle for lightweight honours against Englishman Joe Cummins (5-1).
