Cape Town - The South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC) has joined the nation in mourning the loss of leading South African sports photographer Duif du Toit, who passed away after a short illness.
Award-winning Du Toit, who died at the age of 57, had been working for leading photographic website Gallo Images since 2006, and earned global respect for his legendary lens skills.
He covered a myriad of sporting events both at home and abroad, including cricket, rugby, hockey and football amongst many other events.
SASCOC CEO, Tubby Reddy, expressed his grief at the loss of this talented and committed sports photographer.
“We have truly lost a legend with the lens, a man who was at the very top of his game and captured some of the rainbow nation's greatest sporting moments.
“We convey our sincere and heartfelt condolences to the Du Toit family and friends.
“Duif's legacy will certainly live on in the form of the many brilliant sports images that he leaves behind.”
