Le Clos reaches 200m free final

Cape Town - South Africa's Chad le Clos has qualified for the final of the men's 200m freestyle at the Fina World Championship in Kazan, Russia.

Le Clos, swimming in the first semi-final, was third-fastest in a time of 1:46.10.

Le Clos' compatriot Myles Brown, swimming in the second semi-final, was sixth-fastest in a time of 1:46.85 which wasn't fast enough to see him into the final scheduled for Tuesday evening.

Overall, Le Clos' time was fourth-best while Brown was 10th-quickest.

American veteran Ryan Lochte, celebrating his 31st birthday, posted the fastest time of 1:45.36.
