Happy Birthday to US
Hip Hip Hooray!
Nog 'n piep, Hooray!
That's right readers, the website you helped make South Africa's No 1 sporting destination is turning FIVE today!
After shooting out the starting blocks on September 11, 2008, we've celebrated the highs of SA's finest sportsmen and women, and shared in their despair. We've ruffled some feathers along the way, but have also made some life-long friends in the business.
Even the boss is impressed!
"Congratulations to the Sport24 team. It took a lot of blood, sweat and tears to become the top SA sport website. You have done an amazing job. Our challenge over the next few years is to replicate this achievement on mobile devices. I have no doubt you guys are up for it. Well done!" Jannie Momberg, 24.com Editor-in-Chief.
The highlights?
In no particular order: Hosting the 2010 Soccer World Cup, the Bulls winning the Super 14 title in both 2009 and 2010, the Springboks beating the British & Irish Lions in 2009, the Proteas winning a series in Australia (2008), Chad le Clos and Cameron van der Burgh's gold medal exploits at the 2012 London Olympics - and the 'Oarsome Foursome' taking gold at the same Games.
Lowlights?
Not important today...
