Cape Town - South Africa's Cameron van der Burgh has qualified for the final of the men's 100m breaststroke at the Fina World Championship in Kazan, Russia.
Van der Burgh won his heat in a Championship Record time of 58.49.
However, Van der Burgh's rival, British star Adam Peaty, snatched back his Championship Record in the second heat, stopping the clock in a time of 58.18.
Van der Burgh's time was good enough for second-best in the eight-man final.
Van der Burgh will be expected to deliver South Africa's first medal in the pool in Monday evening's final.
