Cape Town - French Olympian Samir Ait Said broke his leg on Saturday while vaulting during the preliminary rounds at the Rio Olympics.
Cameras and spectators watched in horror as Said, 26, writhed in pain on the floor.
After several excruciating minutes, an ambulance crew finally came to pick Said up - and promptly dropped him on the floor!
Said managed to raise one arm to acknowledge the ovation of the crowd before being taken to hospital.
Unbelievably this is not the first time an injury has dashed Said's Olympic dreams after he was forced to pull out of the 2012 Games because he fractured his leg in three places during the European Championships.
