Cape Town - The United States have another gold medal in the women's 4x400m relay, finishing ahead of Jamaica and Great Britain in Saturday's final in Rio.

The Americans posted a time of 3:19.06 to beat the Jamaicans on 3:20.34 and the British on 3:25.88.

This is now the sixth consecutive Olympic games in which the USA has taken gold in this event, with the last country to beat them being the Soviet Union back at Barcelona 1992.

It is also a record sixth career Olympic gold for 30-year-old Allyson Felix, who also took gold in the 4x100m relay and silver in the individual 400m final.
