Team SA settling in well

Cape Town - Contrary to various media reports that the athletes village in Rio de Janeiro is ‘unlivable’, Team South Africa has settled in well according to SASCOC CEO and Team SA Chef de Mission, Tubby Reddy.

They are currently residing in an apartment block which provides excellent accommodation, air conditioning, reliable wi-fi, reception areas, balconies, a swimming pool and other amenities.

“Our team has settled in well and the block that we chose is ready. We have been lucky and hope all goes well throughout the rest of the Games,” said Reddy.

"Our football teams men and women are in Brazil with the men in Brazilia and the women here in Rio in an apartment reserved for football. The conditions in these apartments are also very good with all amenities in good working order," added Reddy.

Team South Africa are still awaiting the arrival of fair number of athletes over the coming days.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
