Cape Town - South African referee Rasta Rasivhenge has expressed his honour at being selected to referee the Sevens final at the Rio Olympics.
Rasivhenge took charge of the final on Thursday in Rio between Fiji and Great Britain.
Fiji won 43-7, picking up their first ever Olympic medal of any colour in 14 Olympiads.
“What an honour and a definite highlight in my career so far,” said Rasivhenge.
“In fact, I cannot wait for the Olympics to come around again in four years.”
Rasivhenge was one of five SA referees who officiated in Rio.
The others were Ben Crouse, Craig Joubert, Marius van der Westhuizen and Aimee Barrett.
