CATCH YOU LATER
So, to recap - a silver medal for van der Burgh, defeat for Bafana Bafana and a fifth-place finish for Le Clos, but it was good enough to get Chad into tomorrow's final. Reid's time was not strong enough to get him into the final, though.

UNLIKELY FINAL BERTH
Reid has finished fifth in a time of 53.0, so we won't likely see him in the final.
08 Aug 04:10
He is up next, in the men's 100m back-stroke semi-final.

SILVER!!!!! for van der Burgh!!!!!

Cameron second at the halfway mark...

AND WE'RE BACK
The bad news is that Bafana Bafana suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Denmark. The good news - Cameron van der Burgh is in the pool pretty soon, competing for gold in the men's 100m breastroke final.

THAT'S A WRAP
We will be back at around 4am SA time on Monday morning for swimming coverage. Here's hoping Cameron van der Burgh brings home the gold! Cheers, for now.

10th PLACE FINISH FOR MOOLMAN-PASIO
South Africa still have not broken their medal duck at this year's Games. Anna van der Breggen of the Netheralands takes GOLD, Sweden's Emma Johansson SILVER and Itayl's Elisa Borghin BRONZE.

A DOZEN KMs LEFT
It has started to rain now, with Moolman-Pasio dropping out of the chase group.
07 Aug 20:22
LESS THAN 30KMs TO GO...
The riders currently at the front are Pauline Ferrand-Prevot (France), Marianne Vos (Netherlands), Elena Cecchini (Italy), Gracie Elvin (Australia), Malgortza Jasinska (Poland), Anisha Vekemans (Belgium) and Trixi Worrack (Germany). Kachelhoffer and Moolman-Pasio have fallen away, somewhat. Plenty of time to catch up again, though.
07 Aug 19:50
About 90kms in and 50-odd to go, with Kachelhoffer and Moolman-Pasio still in the hunt. It will be a while before the women are gradually separated from the girls...
07 Aug 19:37
Christopher Reid Reid has qualified, 12th fastest, for the semi-finals of the men's 100m backstroke!
07 Aug 18:46
SECOND FOR LE CLOS
Chad le Clos finishes second in his men's 200m freestyle heat with a time of 1:45.89; Myles Brown ends fifth - 1:46.78. They're both through to tomorrow's semi-final.
07 Aug 18:41
WOMEN'S CYCLING ROAD RACE
We're about 40kms in - and almost 100 to go - with An-Li Kachelhoffer and Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio jostling for position with the big guns.
07 Aug 18:06
Those hoping to see Kate Christowitz, Ursula Grobler, Kirsten McCann, Lee-Ann Persse, James Thompson, John Smith, Jake Green, David Hunt and Vincent Breet in action today won't - the rowing has been postponed due to stormy conditions.

WHAT TO LOOK FORWARD TO TODAY
South Africans on display on Sunday.
07 Aug 10:20
Saturday was very disappointing for Myles Brown, Michael Meyer and Sebastien Rousseau, as the 400m individual medley churned out some superb results - not superb for South Africa, though. Thanks goodness, then, for Cameron van der Burgh. He qualified for the 100m breaststroke final, which will happen on Monday morning at about 4am.
07 Aug 10:09
Banyana Banyana unfortunately lost 2-0 to China at about 2am (SA time) this morning. The results all but pushes the ladies out of contention for a medal. They'll be in action again against Brazil on Tuesday, 3am.
