Dolly heading to Rio on a high

Cape Town - Keagan Dolly believes that the stars are aligned for Mamelodi Sundowns to finally become kings of Africa by winning the CAF Champions League.

The Brazilians have made the most of their second chance after CAF kicked out AS Vita for fielding a suspended player, replacing the DRC side with Sundowns in the group stage.

Sundowns took that opportunity and ran away with it, registering three wins in their first three games to top Group B and book a place in the semi-finals.

"Sometimes you need the luck," Dolly told reporters. "But we have created our own luck with all the good performances we put out throughout the season.

"At times we were unlucky, we didn't score. Luck was on our side against Zamalek, even getting that own goal to win the match.

"Even being back on the tournament like the way we did, another team being eliminated. It's something that had to happen for us to get into the semi-finals. It's all looking good for us."

Dolly will jet off to Brazil on Thursday to link up with the national Under-23 team in the Olympics where they will face the hosts, Denmark and Iraq in Group A.

"I am really excited. I have missed out a few camps with the Under-23s," Dolly added. "I feel like I am quite behind with the preparations but I feel god to be joining the team with a few more days to go before the Olympics.

"I can't wait to rub shoulders with Neymar. For me, qualifying for the semi-finals of the Champions League gave me all the confidence that I needed before going to the Olympics.

"I am sure that the guys will do well in Nigeria (against Enyimba) without pressure on them."
