Blitzboks crash to defeat

Cape Town - The Blitzboks have lost their final Pool B encounter at the Olympics Sevens rugby tournament, going down 12-5 to Australia.

Australia opened the scoring in the 3rd minute after Jesse Parahi burst over to score a converted try following a period of sustained pressure. They continued to dominate the half with the Blitzboks seeing very little of the ball.

That pressure again told as Tom Cusack forced his way over from close in for an unconverted try for a 12-0 half-time lead.

The Blitzboks finally were on the board after flyer Seabelo Senatla got over in the right-hand corner for an unconverted try early in the second half.

It was not enough however, and Australia held on to run out 12-5 winners.

The Blitzboks still top the group however, thanks to their big wins over France and Spain on the opening day of the tournament. They will be joined in the quarter-finals by France.
