Australia take women's relay gold

Cape Town - Australia got their second Olympic swimming gold medal of Rio 2016 with a new world record in the Women's 4x100m freestyle relay on Saturday.

The Aussie team, lead by 100m freestyle world record holder Cate Campbell along with Emma McKeon, Brittany Elmslie, and Bronte Campbell, took gold with a time of three minutes and 30.65 seconds.

They were followed by the American team of Simone Manuel, Abbey Weitzeil, Dana Vollmer, and Katie Ledecky ; while Sandrine Mainville, Chantal van Landeghem, Taylor Ruck and Penny Oleksiak won bronze for Canada; posting times of 3:31.89 and 3:32.89 respectively.

Australia have now won three medals in total at Rio 2016 after Mack Horton's gold in the men's 400 metres freestyle final, and bronze for the men's archery team.
