London - SA swimmer Karin Prinsloo has failed in her quest to reach the final of the women's 200m backstroke at the Olympic Games.
Prinsloo finished eight in her semi-final heat on Thursday evening, recording a time of 2:11.42 to miss the cut by a long shot.
Zimbabwe's Kirsty Coventry managed to make the final though, finishing sixth overall in a time of 2:08.32.
