The former semi-professional soccer star who was known as "Wizard" during his playing days will share the stage with other dignitaries. International Olympic Committee president Jacques Rogge, a big fan of South Africa's, will also deliver a message via satellite.
Other leaders to speak include Istvan Balyi from Canada, Steve Grainger from the UK, Kagiso Kemoeng from Botswana, Australia's Peter Budd and Sam Ramsamy.
Initiated by Sport and Recreation Minister Fikile Mbalula, the two-day gathering is aimed at mapping the way forward for the country's sport.
"We want to see our clubs and national teams doing well, that is why we are getting experts from the United Kingdom, Cuba and Australia to assist us," said Mbalula.
