Laureus Sport for Good SA and Tsogo Sun Hotels announce partnership

Cape Town - The Laureus Sport for Good Foundation South Africa and Tsogo Sun Hotels proudly announced their hospitality partnership with a 2019 Rugby World Cup preview and Sport For Good breakfast at the Southern Sun Newlands on Wednesday.

Tsogo Sun Hotels is Africa’s leading hospitality company, offering unparalleled variety, footprint and scale through its diverse portfolio of over 100 hotels in South Africa, Africa, the Seychelles and the Middle East, exceptional variety of restaurants and bars, and over 250 conference and banqueting facilities, including the renowned Sandton Convention Centre.

Established in 1969, Tsogo Sun Hotels celebrates its 50th birthday in 2019, combining an established heritage with a professional and energised approach. Over the last five decades, the group has played an important role in shaping the landscape of hospitality and entertainment in the areas where it operates.

Much like Laureus, Tsogo Sun has a long history of supporting the men and women who carry the flag for South Africa on the international sporting stage. This formidable partnership epitomises both brands’ values of leadership, charisma and passion.

Over the years both Laureus and Tsogo Sun have played an integral part in and supported a number of iconic local and global sporting events, including the Absa Cape Epic and Cape Cycle Tour.

As the official hospitality partner Tsogo Sun will provide accommodation and conferencing venues for the Laureus Sport For Good Foundation over the next 12 months.

The breakfast was attended by Laureus ambassadors; Schalk Burger, Jean de Villiers, Zanele Mdodana, Ernst van Dyk, Ryan Sandes, Cecil Afrika and chairperson of Laureus Sport for Good South Africa, Morne du Plessis. The morning featured 3 panel discussions; first up was Coolplay, a Laureus funded programme who discussed the power of sport in changing lives, then the focus turned to Sevens with Cecil Afrika and Kyle Brown, and concluded with Laureus Ambassadors Jean de Villiers, Schalk Burger and chairperson, Morne du Plessis chatting through their thoughts on the 2019 Rugby World Cup which commences in Japan on Friday, September 20.
