Cape Town - An exciting women's strawweight bout has been added to the UFC on Fox 21 card in August as Paige VanZant will meet Bec Rawlings.
The news was announced on Thursday by VanZant while on ESPN SportCentre.
VanZant (6-2) has not been in the octagon since a dominant loss to Rose Namajunas last December. While she may not have been busy inside the cage she sure has been outside of it. She just finished second on the U.S version of the hit show 'Dancing with the Stars'. Prior to falling at the hands of Namajunas, the 22-year old was a perfect 3-0 with wins over Kailin Curran, Felice Herrig and Alex Chambers to her name. Highly touted as a future star the young fighter has a tough fight ahead of her.
Rawlings (7-4) is a tough fighter who is riding a wave of confidence into this fight having won 2 of her last 3 octagon appearances over Lisa Ellis and Seo Hee Ham. The "Rowdy" Australian has a knack for getting herself into exciting fights and this has all the ingredients to be an absolute classic.
