Snoop Dogg goes off on epic Conor McGregor rant

Cape Town - Rapper Snoop Dogg has wasted no time telling the world - in a NSFW Instagram rant - whose side he was on for last Saturday's historic Floyd Mayweather v Conor McGregor superfight.

According to the FanSided website, a video has surfaced of Snoop voicing his opinion on McGregor, the UFC champion, in a rant peppered with expletives.

“That’s what you get for coming to a gang fight with a butter knife,” Snoop said in reference to McGregor’s historic fight with boxing superstar Mayweather in Las Vegas over the weekend.

McGregor, 29, made the cross over from MMA to fight a boxer many consider to be the greatest of his era in his professional boxing debut.

Although Mayweather would ultimately prevail by TKO in the 10th round, the end came only after McGregor proved to his many doubters that he was the real deal.

McGregor went almost 10 full rounds with Mayweather - and even landed more punches than Manny Pacquiao did in his bout with Mayweather in 2015.

Mayweather, 40, who took his career fight record to an unblemished 50-0 with his victory, announced his retirement from the sport for the second time after the bout.
