Rampage Jackson is back!

Cape Town - One of the most popular figures in MMA is back.

Quinton Jackson is set to make his return to fighting on June 24 at Bellator MMA: Dynamite 2 where he meets Satioshi Ishii in the night’s main event as per a press release from the promotion.

The bout will be contested at a catch weight of 215 pounds.

Jackson (35 – 11) has not been in action since his 2015 win over Fabio Maldonado at UFC 186. Contract disputes between “Rampage” and Bellator have kept the popular fighter out of action, but these disputes have since been resolved. A settlement between the two parties sees Jackson return the promotion where he went 3-0 before his brief return to the UFC.

Ishii (14 – 5 – 1) is a 2008 Olympic gold medalist in Judo and will be making his promotional debut at the June event. Fighting last December at Rizin FC 1, Ishii lost to Jiri Prochazka via KO in the first round. The judo player has fought the like of Fedor Emelianenko and Mirco Cro Cop in is short but successful MMA career.

This will mark the second time Bellator has put on a cross promotion card featuring both MMA and Kickboxing in the same arena. A mixed martial arts cage as well as a kickboxing ring will be side by side on the night. The first ‘Dynamite’ event took place on September 19 2015 and was well-received by viewers. Now, some 6 months later, the promotion will look to ride that wave of success right into St. Louis.

Bellator MMA: Dynamite 2 will take place June 24 from the Scottrade Centre in St. Louis.
