MMA fighter needed a heart transplant

Cape Town - Days before the untimely passing of Kimbo Slice it has been revealed that he was told that he would need a heart transplant. 

In a report from the Sun Sentinel in Florida, Slice had been informed he needed a new heart says MMA writer, Nick Strickland. 

A hospital report sent to the Broward County Examiner's office stated that 42-year old Slice was in the process of being transferred to a Cleveland facility where he was to be put on an organ donors list. Unfortunately he would never make what could have been a life saving journey.

Kevin Ferguson, aka Kimbo slice was admitted to Northwest Medical Centre in Margate, Fla on June 3 after complaining of severe abdominal pain, nausea and shortness of breath. He was later diagnosed with congestive heart failure and a liver mass and was put on a ventilator in intensive care. 

Kimbo Slice will forever be known as the backyard fighter who went from YouTube the riches of the professional fight game. Slice competed in the UFC, Bellator and Elite XC where be broke numerous ratings records. One of the most popular fighters in the sport, Slice will be truly missed.
